How to Make a Mask was an assignment for my Typography class. The assignment was to create a short interactive piece, where users are guided through a narrative and instructions, telling the user how to do something.

During the lockdown when the pandemic first began, my mother taught me how to sew fabric masks to pass time. Since then, I found sewing to be therapeutic and a great way to take a breather from the stressful and chaotic world we still live in today. How to Make a Mask was created so that I can share my little antidote for stress and boredom. Beginning with a list of materials to prepare, the short interactive piece guides the user through simple instructions on how to make a CDC approved fabric mask. With these 5 simple steps, users can spice up their wardrobe with some fashionable, home-made masks!
