Adobe InDesign

Mastering InDesign through various projects including book covers, magazine spreads, and designing a poster.

Overview

In the InDesign course for my Interior and Architectural Design Software Certificate Program, we were assigned numerous projects to explore different skills and assets. Although it was challenging laying out the spread with a significant amount of information, I enjoyed experimenting with pull out quotes and imagery placements. I was also able to use my Adobe Photoshop skills to alter images to fit the magazine spread.

Magazine Spread

This project’s objective was to design a magazine spread layout with the topic of our choice. I chose Doug Hurley, an American astronaut and designed the spread to go along with the outer space theme.

Same Book Cover, Different Genre

The goal of this project was to create two book covers with the same title and author that evoke a mood within the genres, horror and romance.

Diana Rigg Poster

The goal of this assignment was to create a single promotional page to advertise a collection of the old 60's British TV show, “The Avengers” featuring Diana Rigg. The poster also had to be inspired by “The International Style”, known for it's gridded sans serif text, limited palette, and bold but simple graphics. For my poster, I decided to play around with shapes and orientation, experimenting with The International Style.
